Here's some footage that I intended to post a long time ago and kind of forgot about. We were vacationing after Christmas in Myrtle Beach, and Maddy was having a pretend phone conversation with my brother (uncle Steve). They don't get to see him often, so I know this will mean a lot to him because I know he misses them.

She's a little mixed up on the lyrics of "I Love Rock 'n Roll"... but she has it straight now :)

Yesterday, was Jordan's birthday and we gave her a Fisher Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera. Everytime I get my camera out, Jordan wants to take pictures with it, but I'm a little protective of it because it's the only one I have. She took pictures with it for the rest of the day... and loved it. It definately isn't the best picture quality, but I wasn't really expecting it to be. The funniest thing was explaining to her that to her that she needed to take pictures of things that weren't moving so her pictures wouldn't turn out blurry. She got so frustrated when Maddy wouldn't stay still... finally understanding why I get so frustrated trying to get her to stay put!

These are the first pictures she took with it for the rest of the day. She was very proud that she helped me make a video :)

Don't Smile!

On our way home after picking up my mom from the airport today, we stopped at IHOP for brunch. Maddy was upset with us for ordering her a funny face pancake instead of the chicken fingers she wanted. She tried so hard to stay mad... but couldn't quite maintain an angry expression. I'm not really sure what kid wouldn't want a funny face pancake!

PodCamp Atlanta Recap

I will post a video eventually of all the random footage I took. I really am not great at taking photos and video during these events, so I don't have much to work with! Here's a photo I found on the PodCamp Atlanta flickr pool from our Meet the Vloggers panel on saturday.

All in all, it was a great weekend. Charlie and I and Chris Daniel hung out outside the main hall most of the morning. We talked videoblogging for a good bit and then eventually met the other panelists after lunch. Our panel, led by Ben Ramsey, went OK... but the 45 minutes we had was simply not enough. We ended up answering a lot of questions on the "hows" of videoblogging and very little on the "whys"... but I think that was only because we just didn't have the time. We talked a lot about Blip.tv too and how much we love it :) I got a kick out of hearing the other podcasters refer to videoblogging as "v-logging" :D

Grabbed some sushi on saturday evening with the Daniels and Ajit and Kelly from Squigglebooth. Went to First Baptist Church of Atlanta on Sunday morning and then off to Underground Atlanta to walk around a bit before heading home. We coincidentally found the Daniels roaming around there too!

The panel was recorded (video and audio), so hopefully I will be able to provide some links soon!

Lots going on!

I've had quite a bit going on in the last while, so again, excuse that lack of videos showing up in the feed lately! I just wanted to make a post and let you know about a few things going on with me.

First of all, I started a blog! That's right.. an old fashioned text blog :) I've actually never really had one of those before. I jumped straight to vlogging and skipped right over blogging and podcasting. Check out Kid Quotables. To some of you, this will just be another boring Mommy/family blog, but for those of you who are amused by funny kid stories, be sure to visit and subscribe!

Secondly, I've started a new project for my church. I recently joined our church's media team and have introduced them to the world of videoblogging. I've set up a church video podcast for them here. I'm really excited to be a part of their team, as I'm sure I will be learning a lot from them too!

Lastly, I've been invited to be on the vlogging panel at PodCamp Atlanta. If you are anywhere near Atlanta, or are willing to travel there, I'd love to see some more vloggers there representing! Registration is free, but space is limited, so if you can make it, go add your name to the registrant list here. Hope to see you there!

Mornings

As soon as we crawl out of bed.. this is what you would see at our house. With Jordan starting school in August... mornings are never going to be the same around here! Pretty soon, it will be a mad dash to get a lunch made, school bag packed and Jordan off to school. No more laid back mornings like this! I'm excited for Jordan to be starting school, but I will miss this too. As you can see, coffee and TV are a large part of our morning :P

We recently kicked off the new year by going on vacation for a week to Myrtle Beach. I've taken a lot of video since Christmas, so instead of trying to put it all together into one huge edited project, I'll be sharing smaller clips of some of the fun moments we had over the holidays.

That being said, this is a small clip of Charlie switching to "vacation mode". He gets a little silly sometimes. He says it's all for the girls, but I don't know... :)

New Camera!

Leaving tomorrow for vacation, but wanted to share with you what my wonderful husband bought me for our 8th anniversary (which was yesterday). Sorry.. no video post today, but there will be soon, with some good quality video from my new Panasonic PVGS300! This is the camera I've been wanting for awhile and it was a total surprise. Not sure I will be able to post this week, but I'm definately bringing my camera and will be working on editing some movies. Happy New Year to all!!

Computer Crash

Normally, I don't post unless I have a video, but the videos have been coming a bit slow these days if you haven't noticed. Some of you have asked what's up, and my answer up until today would have been that life has gotten really busy over the holiday season. I definately haven't lost my interest in videoblogging. Today though, I went to check my email first thing in the morning, and a strange noise was coming from my computer. It then froze, and now will not start back up. It appears as though my hard drive has failed, and I've most likely lost everything on it. Fortunately... all my videos were backed up, but most everything else including that last 6 months of photos was lost. This makes me very sad :( Luckily, my computer is still under warranty, so after Christmas I hope to get it running again and get back into making some vids.

One last post from my summer vacation to NB. The girls got a little wild on Saturday night before our return home. They had been enjoying listening to music with my Dad in the evenings. Dad picked out a few songs from his iPod playlist for the girls to dance to.

I'm not sure why the quality is so bad.. aside from the fact that it's a little dark. Something is weird with the compression... and I thought I had this down pat! I'm working on it :(

Raising the Steeple

The church we've been attending since we moved to Columbia will be opening the doors of their new sanctuary on December 3rd. This past Sunday, the congregation gathered outside to watch the raising of the steeple.
